And just like that, this year is coming to an end! so many highs and lows but here we are the end of 2023. The year started off with a book talk at Larry Ringer Library in College Station, Texas. I was so excited about the opportunity to share my story about my first book published, The Silent Dreamer. February and March brought along book signing events at the McFerrin Center on the campus of Texas A&M University and at the Harrie P. Woodson Memorial Library in Caldwell, Texas in March. Moving right along through the months of March, April and May brought speaking engagements to school in the Brazos Valley, starting with my high school alma mater, Snook ISD. I had the opportunity to speak to students at Hearne ISD and at MC Harris school in Bryan, Texas.
What an awesome experince to speak to young minds! I love the opportunity to motivate young minds to fullfill their potential in life, love sharing the message that "greatness is within them". This busy year also allowed me to visit the North Bryan Community Center, I had the opportunity to pour into younger minds and share with them that they can acheive anything they set out to in life with hard work and a great support system in place. I was honored and priviledged to sponsor a couple of events in 2023, the gala event for a local non-profit Brazos Valley Blessings, my daughter was keynote speaker for this event, icing on the top for me! The very next day I sponsored and participated in 5K RUN/WALK in Snook that benefitted Snook Athletics programs at Snook ISD.
I cannot forget my speaking engagement at a local non profit Aggieland Pregnancy Outreach, this local ministry serves young mothers and dads in the community with resources and items for infants. I was honored to speak and share my story of being a young dad and making young dad decisions and mistakes in my younger days. I also share with the group of young dads that evening, copies of my book, The Silent Dreamer. I had the pleasure of giving away almost 100 copies of book this past year! 60 of those copies were purchased by a donor who wanted me to give them to local schools in the county where I live, I was so pleased to do this and again share my story though my book, The Silent Dreamer. Yes its been an amazing year for yours truly and I expect 2024 to be filled with more opportunities! stay tuned for more in 2024!
